Apple pie ni fillingnya tak berapa manis sangat. Bagi anda yang suka manis, boleh tambah gula lagi ya. Apple pie ni sesuai untuk minum petang atau bila-bila masa pun tak kisah... kerana ianya home made, kalau habis.. boleh buat lagi. Resepinya ada di bawah. Selamat mencuba!!!

Apple Pie Filling (2 recipes/ methods ) :
1st method (boiling technique):-
7 medium apples (peeled, cored and cut into small cubes ) , 710g+-
70g Granulated Sugar
5 tablespoons Corn Starch or Corn Flour
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
2 tablespoons bottle lemon juice or freshly squeezed lemon juice
120ml water
Directions
1. In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice; set aside.
2. In a Dutch oven over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, cornstarch and ground cinnamon.
3. Add water; bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
4. Add peeled apples (small cubes) ; return to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until the apples are tender, about 6-8 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes.

2nd method :-
7 medium apples (peeled, cored and cut into small cubes ) , 710g+-
70g Granulated Sugar
3 tablespoons All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
2 tablespoons bottle lemon juice or freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions
1. In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice; set aside.
2. Whisk the granulated sugar, flour and ground cinnamon until combine.
3. Add in peeled apples (small cubes). Stir it until well mix.

Pie Crust
180g unsalted butter ( cut into small cubes / cold ) - try to use good quality butter because all the flavor for the dough comes from the butter
40g vegetable shortening ( cold )
6 to 8 tablespoons ( 60ml -120ml ) ice water or cold water
320g All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon fine salt or kosher salt
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
*1 egg for egg wash
*2 tablespoons butter or margarine
Directions
1. Dice or cut the unsalted butter into small cubes and return it to the refrigerator/chiller while you prepare the flour mixture.
2. Place the flour, salt and sugar in a medium bowl; mix it.
3. Add cold butter and cold vegetable shortening.
4. Sprinkle a cup of tablespoon ice water/cold water until the dough clumps and sticking together.
5. Dump out on a floured board and roll into a ball.
6. Wrap in a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
7. Cut the dough in half. Roll each piece on a well-floured board into a circle, rolling from the center to the edge, turning and flouring the dough to make sure it doesn't stick to the board.
8. Fold the dough in half, place in a pie pan ( 9.5 inches diameter ) and unfold to fit the pan.
9. Pour the apple pie filling into the pie pan lined with dough. Dot a butter or margarine into small pieces; sprinkle over apple pie filling.
10. Using a pastry cutter or pizza cutter, cut an even number of strips from the remaining rolled out dough. Transfer every other strip to the pie top and weave in the lattice by folding every other strip back onto itself and laying another strip perpendicularly. Fold the strips back across and repeat until completed. Trim the overhanging dough and crimp edges.11. Brush the top of the pie with egg wash ( one whole egg or egg yolk with water ).
12. Bake pie in the preheated oven for 45 minutes at 170°C or 180°C. Let it rest 20 minutes before slicing.
